I just cut the heads out of poster board and the kids create a portrait of themselves I cut a poster up and give each student a piece of the puzzle. It might be what they want to be when they grow up, something that concerns them about the world or what their favorite things to do are.
Students write three things about themselves on a piece of paper. I will, however, note a few of my favorite read alouds and video clips for introducing more complicated routines and procedures.
